
- Tents should be set up on hard and flat ground as much as possible, rather than camping on river banks or dry riverbed.
- The tent should preferably face south or southeast to see the early morning sunlight, and the camp should not be located on ridges or peaks.
- At least there should be grooves, not by the stream, so that it won't be too cold at night.
- The entrance of the tent should be leeward, and the tent should be away from the hillside with rolling stones.
- The camp should be located in a well drained camp such as sandy land, grassland, or rock debris. To avoid flooding the tent during rain, a drainage ditch should be dug directly below the edge of the canopy.
- To prevent insects from entering, spread a circle of kerosene around the tent.
